About

More Than a Project.

A Living Philosophy.

There are paths we choose — and paths that choose us. Urban Atman is the result of such a calling. Not planned, not branded, but grown from experience, silence, and a deep need to contribute something meaningful. If you're here, maybe something in you is already listening ...

What is Urban Atman?

Urban Atman is my personal path of giving back — a space for mindfulness, sound, and conscious transformation. A place for those who feel the call to slow down, to reconnect with yourself and with nature — and to remember the life force that quietly flows through all beings, including YOU.

Why I do this.

This is not a business. It’s my way of sharing what has profoundly shaped my own life.

My approach is informed by 25+ years of spiritual practice – drawing from Vedanta, Buddhist Psychology, and various Yoga traditions – with a focus on non-dualistic awakening and embodied presence.

If Urban Atman reaches even one soul, one heart, that is reward enough.

Who I am.

My name is Alexander Loehr – some also know me as Ghanashyam Das — and I live in the quiet town of Santanyí on the island of Mallorca.

These are names. Labels. Useful, but not the truth.
What I really am – what we all are – is the awareness that watches, the stillness that listens, the space in which all experience arises.

My personal path is interspiritual by nature: rooted at heart in Bhakti Yoga, yet shaped by many traditions – Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Vedanta, various schools of Buddhism and Tantra, Christian mysticism, Sufism.
I have walked through all of them. None of them is my cage. All of them have formed me – but above all, it has been direct experience that has shaped who I am.

Over the years, this path has also led me to pursue formal training in meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra, and sound therapy – not to collect titles, but to internalize these practices more deeply.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words and deeds of my own life contribute to this happiness and freedom for all.
